Under the patronage of Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities, and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Cairo, have officially announced the launch of Egypt’s government real estate platform, supported by the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system, under the web address www.realestate.gov.eg.
The official launch was held under Mr Ahmed El Batrawy’s supervision, Chairman of E-Systematic, at a fascinating ceremony attended by ENG. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities, and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, after three years of hard work, commitment, and dedication to achieve a breakthrough in the Egyptian real estate market.
This historic event marks a turning point in the future of the Egyptian real estate market, introducing a transformative approach aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and credibility in the sector. The MLS system is Egypt’s first Multiple Listing Service. This government initiative serves as a centralized hub for all key stakeholders in the real estate industry, including real estate agents, developers, financial institutions, and government entities. More than just a database, it is an integrated system designed to create a well-organized, centralized real estate marketplace.
A Strategic Step Towards Real Estate Development
In his speech, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities, emphasized:
“The Egyptian government has prioritized urban and real estate development to encourage local and foreign investment. The real estate sector plays a vital role in the national economy, and its contribution has been growing steadily over recent years due to the national projects implemented by the state. Egyptian real estate is considered a valuable asset for individuals and companies.”
The real estate sector is one of the key drivers of the Egyptian economy and a major contributor to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It plays a significant role in attracting investments, and with rapid technological advancements, integrating digital solutions into the sector has become essential for maintaining global competitiveness. The Egypt Real Estate Platform aims to provide a comprehensive and seamless experience for property searches and purchases, serving both Egyptians at home and abroad and foreign investors.
Facilitating Real Estate Exports
The new platform is a key tool in Egypt’s strategy to promote real estate exports. It offers an integrated digital gateway that allows buyers inside and outside Egypt to explore all available properties in the market.
With advanced technology, users can access detailed images of different units, view floor plans, compare prices, and explore payment options—offering a transparent and convenient purchasing experience that feels like they are physically in Egypt.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of real estate experts, stating:
“Selling Egyptian properties abroad requires specific executive measures, including various facilitations. The Ministry of Housing is developing a comprehensive strategy to market Egyptian real estate internationally, targeting key markets. This requires accurately classifying available properties and integrating them into a unified digital system.”
Enhancing Egypt’s Global Position in Real Estate Investment
Establishing a unified platform for the Egyptian real estate market is a strategic objective to efficiently manage the sector while reinforcing Egypt’s global real estate investment map position. The initiative seeks to attract foreign investments and open new opportunities for Egyptians abroad and international investors, ultimately leading to a significant breakthrough in the Egyptian real estate industry.
Thanks to the MLS system, all real estate data is centralized, making it the only verified and reliable source of property information. By eliminating duplicate and misleading listings, the platform ensures that only legally documented properties are available to buyers and investors. This system enhances market regulation, transparency, and trust between professionals and consumers while connecting Egypt’s real estate sector with global markets.
A Digital Transformation for the Real Estate Industry
The platform represents a step towards digital transformation in the real estate sector, providing an innovative and efficient way for developers, local investors, and international investors to explore the latest real estate projects in Egypt.
From today, Egypt is now connected to a global network of over 2 million real estate professionals in the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America. Through the MLS system, Egyptian real estate professionals can collaborate, share property listings, and access international markets with unmatched efficiency and ease.
Moreover, this platform is set to unlock new opportunities for foreign investments and cross-border real estate transactions, positioning Egypt as a key player in the global real estate market.
The official Egyptian real estate platform will directly pull data from the MLS system, ensuring all listed properties are verified, accurate, and constantly updated. This platform is expected to build greater consumer trust by eliminating fraudulent listings and offering a smooth, secure experience for real estate transactions.
